Move your feet and the rest will follow

Thursday, January 31, 2013

So one of the major things that changed today was I worked on my attitude. I had to get back to the thought process of I can only change how I react/feel/think, I cannot change how someone else acts or thinks. When I kept reminding myself of this, I felt a bit more uplifted and positive.

I had a much better food day today.

I saw a shirt today that said: "move your feet and the rest will follow." I'm not sure what it was all about, as I just kept seeing the back of the shirt as the gal passed me on the track. I like it. It is simple and basic and doesn't sound too hard.

I did 10 minutes of walking this morning before I headed off to my day.

Errands and other things got in the way so my exam is rescheduled for next week. I think this was really a good thing. My mind wasn't in the right place to deal with that. I feel much more centered and balanced already.

I have a massage and acupuncture scheduled for tomorrow. I may try to get a chiropractor appointment for Friday. Remembering to take care of me!

I really appreciate all of the support and ideas that were posted yesterday. I loved the idea about making taking my metformin one of my "other" goals to be tracked on here. I may try the daily pill thing. My issue is with metformin because I take that with meals rather than first thing in the AM or before bed. I rarely miss a dose of my night time meds. It is the lack of structure for the times I need to take them. But I think I may try the weekly pill box so I can at least see how I am doing and not have to go off of memory.

Alas, it is late and I must get to bed, but I wanted to share my update.

I've been struggling to stay on track lately, too. It seemed so easy last spring; no twisting my own arm was needed. The best thing I've done lately is kept moving. I may be eating too much, but by keeping my activity level up, I'm relieving stress and burning the extra calories.
