New Trainer

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

I had my first private session with my new trainer tonight. I really like him. He explains each exercise and is really firm on making sure of the right form. He is very encouraging. I talked with him a little after the session about what I have been doing and my frustrations. He said with my low thyroid I shouldn't get my heart rate above 130 and he preferred it @125. My old trainer always wanted me between 140-150 and many times I pushed it a little higher because I thought it would help me burn the fat. I might have been overtraining -- Maybe that is why I hit the wall last Fall - I don't know.

Another thing he strongly suggested was to do my cardio first thing in the morning or since I work out in the afternoon to only eat a light lunch of just protein -- both times are when my blood sugar is at the lowest and exercising then will burn more fat. Then after exercise have some carbs. He had a client before that had a low thyroid and wasn't losing weight until she started to do that. I am going to start that tomorrow.

I started working on sorting out our 2003 pictures and memorabilia to get ready to put in an album. One goal I have this year is to get caught up to the present with all our pictures. One year a month and I will get it done.

Daily Goals:

2) Exercise at least 10 minutes. emoticon 71 min
3) Eat at least 3 freggies a day emoticon 3 servings

Glad to hear this new trainer is focusing on YOU and not just what he tells everyone to do. Hope you start to feel better and see results! You've been so faithful ... I know it's hard not to just throw in the towel when you don't get the results you expect and want! God Bless You, my friend!

You are doing so well! I"m not all that fond of my trainer. SHe tells me nothing about the machines or how I am doing. Of course, not feeling well on Tuesday kept me underperforming.

Really focus on eating protein and try to get more than the minimum in your range. Also, you may find you'll need an iron supplement. When I've given blood I learned the thryroid medicine can result in lower iron counts. Sometimes my iron level was too low for me to donate. I take a multi-vitamin with iron and it seems to help. Since I've been tracking my food and staying within calorie range and really focusing on the protein and fiber in my diet I've been seeing great results. I hope this helps.
