Today was day 460 - a little of this, a little of that

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Today was a snow day for school so I didn't have to get up early and run kids around like I had planned. Youngest son was supposed to have standardized tests for his Sophomore class and then the older one was going in at 10am so they'll be doing that next Wednesday instead.

I struggled to drive home this morning after work - the roads in Omaha were sh***y and I had to keep backing down hills and trying new routes to get through the side streets. Even some MAIN streets were still unplowed at 7:30-8am!! I was so NOT a fan of our current city administrators and I hope their ears were burning as I tried to venture home. I ended up parking at the shopping area nearby and called my hubby to come pick me up.

The start of my exercise today was walking the 11 minutes through the snow this afternoon (0.65 miles) to get back to where I left my car so I could drive it home. I then finished shoveling the driveway (another 20 minutes) and did my Day 4 video (12-minute seated core workout). Can't believe that I'm nearly done with this 4-week challenge. I've enjoyed the variety of videos that I've been doing.

Not looking forward to the cold weather tomorrow here in Omaha. Might try to stay in and cook a pot of Vegetable Beef soup! YUM!

Wow, that brought back memories of the Idaho Panhandle. Not fun uh? Glad nothing happened, and you finally got home (regardless of how). We are suppose to be 70o tomorrow. You can rub in your weather this summer when we are 116o and up for three months.

I'm so glad I am at home with my kids all day! I was able to stay inside and not go out at all! Glad you made it home safe!
My workout included shoveling this white stuff too!! I couldn't get the snowblower to start! I hope today is a good day for you.

Whoa! When Nebraska schools are closed due to snow, that's serious! Stay warm and be safe, Kelly!
