Okay - I have had Deacon, my wonderful service dog to be for just a little over a week now. Since I got him, I am walking more than I ever did. He and I are doing 3-5 miles a day. My fibromyalgia has not really been acting up much, until today.

For the good news, here in South Florida, we are still able to wear shorts and tank tops with no problem, so I pulled on a pair of short today, just to see how they fit. They've been too tight for the last 3-4 years. Now? They are loose. My pants are all too loose as are most of my tops. We won't get into the discussion of underclothes. Suffice to say, I will have to go shopping when I have some money. Luckily, I know how to sew.

When I last stepped on the scale after getting Deacon, it showed I gained a little, but I'm tempted to check again tomorrow.

Now, for the bad bit of news, as I said, my fibromyalgia has been pretty manageable until today. I managed to fall while walking Deacon earlier today. I could not get back up on my own for the second time. Deacon let off with some MAJOR barking, but stayed right by my side. Two different neighbors came out to see what was up and they helped me up. One of them helped me home. Deacon gave him love and kisses for helping me. That neighbor has since come by again to check up on me. I am okay, but I am so proud of Deacon for staying with me. I had dropped his leash and he could have run off, but he didn't.

We called the doctor and he told me to rest for the evening and to have someone with me tomorrow while walking. Son has agreed.

Excellent that he stayed and barked until help came. Deacon & the neighbor deserve thanks and cookies!

Hmm. My stepmother told me she has fibro, but even after reading up on it a bit, it's still a mystifying condition to me. I'm just glad that the diagnoses is taken much more seriously than it used to be back about -what, 15 to 20 years ago? Not asking you to educate me, but I truly didn't realize it could be that suddenly debilitating with flare- ups. I hope you're feeling better now.

Glad that you had him with you or you might not of gotten up and could of gotten a real bad burn too, the sun was out and hot today in Central Florida. I know that it is also hotter where you live since we have relatives in Ft Lauderdale.

Kristina you and Deacon are doing great. That is wonderful about the clothes. Deacon seems to be a natural service dog. I'm glad he was able to get you some help. Hope you get over your fall quickly.
