29/365 Food Labels

Today was our mthy nutrition class as part of win some lose some competition. We discussed serving size which ironically is what I've been working on with my hubby.

Now I have to work on reading the first 3 ingredients; to start eating less of certain things or to completely eliminate them from my daily intake.

It is hard to believe that all my life I was over eating; even when I was skinny. I am learning to eat smaller portions and to have healthier foods in the house.

I think that if my family would have read more label when I was younger mayb me n them would all have been more healthier.

    I think the times were different and we reallly didn't understand the impact foods could have on our lives. Having said that, my grandparents fried everything in lard, breaded anything that could be breaded, put gravy on everything and lived to be in their 90s. I'm not advocating it, just sayin'! They also worked 3 times as hard as we do!

    Yea, we all would be more healthier if our parents read the labels, but back then they didn't know they should, no big deal to any of us then and that sure put us all in a tight spot. :( At least we can learn to do it now and know what we're eating. :) HUGS!
