Tired but happy

That's a good thing, right? emoticon

Sunday and Monday are my 'days off' when I clean my house, do laundry and 'the big' shopping, etc. and try to have a social life, such as it is.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays I have my grandkids, 2 and 3 1/2, plus my grandniece, 2 and a 1/2 (Wed only).

Then- back to work on Thurs- Sat, caring for a 98 yr old sweetie pie in his home 6-7 hrs a day.

I do Tai Chi on Mon and Fri mornings at the senior center (I know- I'm barely old enough to belong but i go just for that).

I belong to Anytime Fitness (a 24 hour gym) which I usually only get to on Sat and Thurs, after work, Sundays and Mondays (my long workout days).

I keep a yoga mat, an 8 lb wt and a 15 lb kettlebell over at the professor's house and work out over there on my 3 work days (thank goodness for the SP videos and youtube).

So- I am busy!

When I put anything extra in there- even fun stuff- like having son and dil for dinner tonight- I am TIRED!

I just do not have the energy I used to.

I can't wait until I am truly retired and can sleep as late as I want every day- go to the gym as often and as long as I want- and have the energy to do all the fun things I want to do.

I'm not complaining, mind you- I have a full, rich, happy life!

Methinks I need a vacation!

Darn insurance costs! I think I remember that is why you continue to work.

I choose to continue to work to get some "extras" that I couldn't justify otherwise. And even then they aren't wild extravagances.

I may need to check out our senior center. I truly don't know if they are that active. Hmmmmm....might be fun.

Kind of fun being the youngest senior around, isn't it? That's where I stand in our ACW group... most of them are in their 80's already. Hope I'm as active as they are when I'm their age.

I had to laugh that you "can't wait for retirement". I am basically retired, just working part time as a your guide, and I've never been so busy in my life. LOL

Elizabeth-You do have a full schedule!! What jumped out to me is that most of your activities are giving to others--the professor, the grandkids, and, yes, to you!!! That makes for a wonderful, rich life. But, as you said, it also makes for a very tired Elizabeth. Hopefully, you can get some rest or a break soon. Have a great day!

Moms never are allowed to get sick, nor do they ever get a vacation. (Unless I go ALONE, it's no vacation: I pack, clean, organize, re-pack, unpack and do laundry every "vacation", as well as possibly cook. And NO, I am NOT a "helicopter parent"!)

Your kind of tired sounds good. :-)

I love a day (or week!) well-spent, a hot bath or shower, cuddled up in bed, mentally gift-wrapping the goodness before a lovely stretch and snooze.

Bless you for watching those preschoolers! That's exhausting enough for one week, not to mention everything else you do.
