Lotsa miles today!

Wow, I racked up the miles today! After a sedentary morning driving my niece to her appointment (in the pouring rain, no less), I really cranked out some miles both walking the dog and at the gym. I walked 8.3 miles, 5.1 miles of that with the dog. The weather was strangely warm today, and it stopped raining after lunch, so it was a great day for walking outside. After a light lunch (does an apple and half an ounce of mozzarella count as a meal?), I went to the gym. I ran for 35 minutes on the treadmill. With warm up and cool down it came to 40 minutes. Then I hopped on the bike for 9.3 miles, and then I did a full body ST workout, which included 9 sets of squats. I am still using the new upper body ST routine the PT gave me. I am going to be able to lift that kayak up on top of the car by myself come Spring, I just know it! In addition I did core, and lower body ST on the machines, including squats on the leg press machine. I did 3 sets of 15 reps at 140 pounds. It was almost easy, so I think I need to increase that weight to 150 next time. All together I added 21.1 miles to my monthly tally. I am over 300 miles again this month, and I still have one more day. Woohoo!
I plan on going to the gym on Friday, but I have company coming at 2pm, so I will have to cut my workout short, maybe even just do cardio. I will have to think about it. I can always do some light ST at home after my company leaves.
I had a protein shake after I walked home from the gym. I needed it big time. I think I need to eat a little more before I go to the gym, because my hands were shaking so badly by the time I got home that I had trouble holding a glass of water. I believe that is a sign of low blood sugar. Oops!
I plan on taking it pretty easy tomorrow. We are supposed to drop below freezing tonight and the snow is supposed to start up again during the day, so I am sure that staying home by the heater will have great appeal. I know Cooper's favorite place on cold days is directly in front of the heater. I always tell him that his little doggy brains are going to dry up and roll out his nose, but he doesn't care. It is warm, that is all he cares about!
