****too much DRAMA for yo MAMA****

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

My fam is beefin' on Facebook! Who does that?? I mean they are acting like Crips and Bloods! Put your bandanas down! Basically, my cousin got married last summer. My other cousin was one of her bridesmaids. Now I was with them a lot leading up to the wedding and everything SEEMED kosher. My one cousin had helped with the bridal shower, bacholorette party. They were were hugging and smiling and sharing memories from their childhood (their parents are brothers and sisters). Come wedding day, my cousin is nowhere to be seen. Not only is she not a bridesmaid, she isnt even at the wedding. I don't know what happened and everyone is all hush (do you know how much she spend on a dress and shoes???). So half of us live in OMaha and the other half of the cousins live in Phoenix. This morning, my phone keeps blinking - my FB alerts. I get on FB and what do I see? My cousin the bride (did I mention she is 35 yrs old?) makes a post about "people" being undeserving of her love when all she was trying to do was look out for other "people's" children and family and yada yada yada and then tags the cousing she is talking about in it. Then she responds that if you have something to say come to me and yada yada yada. And then my cousin, the bride's BROTHER, starts cursing up a storm and telling ALL of my cousin (the bridesmaids) business. It was stream after stream of rachetness! I finally had to remind my lovely cousins that we are NOT the crips and the bloods and they need to ALL take a breather from Facebook and get the hell over it! I gave them a virtual warning shot! Suprisingly, after I posted that, they deleted their messages and got their asses off of FaceBook! emoticon (Sargeant Nikki laying the SMACKDOWN!)

In other news, I have put a kabosh on any more guest list adds for my wedding. Derrell and I initially said we would invite 250 people. Then we said, let's bring that down to 200. Somehow along the way, we now have 285 people on our guest list! If we include the vendors who will be sitting through dinner, we are at 294 people! Now I know they say only about 70% will show. But if that is the case, we will be at 200 people. I was hoping to invite 200 and have 150 show. My brother said: you know this is Omaha. This is like the Black Kate and William for some folks- everybody trying to get in! emoticon My brother is crazy.

Well that is all the drama I have for today folks. My parting words: keep your business off of Facebook!

girl! I know how that is! Sometimes it takes one Mature person to help everyone else realize how immature they are being! SMH...facebook beefing is taking over. I"m an author and I am often amazed at how many of my fellow authors beef with each other on facebook. It's insane!

You always make me smile! I hate it when people put their business on Facebook. It's like having a brawl at half court.

Glad they didn't turn around on you for telling them to stop.
I made that mistake last year - I friended someone from high school that I honestly don't remember. She started having a fight with her husband about finances on their status updates. ALL I SAID was a reminder that it was posting on everyone's feeds, so they might want to take it off of Facebook. She totally turned on me, writing up tons of statuses about how "people" need to stay out of her business, and eventually saying that I only pretended to be sad when a dear friend died in high school (again, I don't even remember this horrible woman!). She took an innocent "hey guys, might want to do this in private" into "you didn't care when he died!".
    Facebook is crazy, man.

WOW, that wedding is going to be huge! Thank goodness you got the perfect dress already!

Sorry to hear aboutthe family drama, but glad you were able to quiet it, maybe they will realize how ridiculous it is tofight in Facebook. If we could all just speak directly about our feelings, things in this world would be so much better, and easier.

anyways, good luck with that guest list, wow! It will be a great time though I am sure!
