I've been saying for a few years that I wanted to run a 5K. I have finally taken a step toward that. After joining a "fitness center" (they don't want to be called a gym because gyms have "lunks"...) I remembered how much I enjoyed running before heart problems (which were just my body being cranky at running and nothing serious) sidelined me. Watching TV the other night I saw information about 5Ks for new runners/walkers. Long story short, June 15th is my first 5K. My wife is joining me as a motivation. We're also talking about a warm-up 5K (not running the whole thing or having a slower pace) in March. I'm excited and terrified at the same time. Now I need to get some new shoes so I can start training.
