Snaffle is my favourite word today

Snaffle. It just sounds funny! I'm going to snaffle those biscuits before everyone eats them.

Yeah, I need sleep.

So anyway, today I'm wondering about exercise v. activity. Where exactly is the line drawn between proper cardio exercise and just day to day activity?

Today was my bin day at work (all the permanent staff take turns emptying the bins for the whole company) and I don't know whether to add it to my tracker or not. It involved going up and down stairs 4 times, and I made sure I jogged up instead of just walking every time. It took me around 15 minutes to get all the rubbish and recycling downstairs, and I was breathing a little heavier by the end of it. But not a lot heavier, and it's not like I worked up a sweat carrying bin bags around.

So do I track it? Or call it activity and just feel smug about the few calories I burned while everyone else was sitting at their desk? What would I even track it as? Somehow I can't see 'emptying bins' being an option in the tracker. But then you never know...

    since you did so much stair climbing and were breathing hard by the end, maybe track as low impact aerobics--i would guess the calorie usage would be similar. or just enjoy the fact that you did and were able to do it and be happy with that! thanks for stopping by my blog too--glad you enjoyed the link about having your photo taken!

    I wouldn't track those as fitness minutes. If you really would have had a pumping heartrate (you get what I mean.. of course EVERY heartrate is pumping ;)) it would be different.. just take it as normal activity ;)

    Snaffle... hehe.... yes, I did just go "hehe".

Also, I wouldn't record those as fitness minutes. They were part of your routine and, although intentional, weren't INTENTIONAL (if you get what I'm saying...?)

    I usually only track planned fitness minutes, though I do track snow shovelling, but honestly I usually only do it to get some exercise.

If you want to track it you could track it under housework, it kind of is?
