Take that!..

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

DogStarDaddy had a valid point in his comment on my last blog. He said:
"You women!! If I put a picture of a hot, mostly naked girl on my page, you'd be beating me up! :)"

And I think he's right, for the most part. I was quick to dart over to his Spark page though and proclaim my differences!
"Hey! I appreciate a finely curved, hot, mostly nekkid woman as much as the next person! I'm an equal-opportunity ogler from way back!"

True dat. For instance, I have a HUGE girl crush on Monica Belluci:

No matter how clothed or unclothed she is.

The first time I saw Monica, in The Matrix Reloaded, I about fell out of my seat. Those lips, those curves. I have neither (really, I lack an upper lip, always have.. and my curves are in different places from hers LOL) but wish I did.

Anyway, there - equal time, equal opportunity ogling for DSD and me!

(you're out of luck if you prefer blondes.. I don't think I have any blonde girl crushes going on. Well, aside from Starbuck!)

Ok, so I was way under on calories yesterday, but it was mostly unintentional. I have a bad mouth - that is to say, aside from sometimes being a potty mouth, I have not taken care of my mouth/teeth. To that end, I had a left lower molar ~killing~ me yesterday and had Bill schedule me a late appointment with our dentist, who was great to get me in - thank goodness for late office hour days.

I knew I wouldn't feel up to doing anything the appointment, so I zipped home, threw on running clothes, and hit the road.

What? It was my Last Chance Workout (LCW), you can't possibly think I'd miss that!

My legs have been sore from Sunday's battles, and extra walking and such, so I ran the first mile and a half, and then tried running up my big hill. My right knee said "NOPE!" and I listened. I walked the rest of the way with a few running intervals here and there, but was ok with that. I finished up with 2.9 miles (I didn't have my phone out so didn't realize I was so close to 3 mi), cleaned up, had dinner, then went to the dentist.

He had to pull it.

Yes, my left cheek is all puffy like that now LOL maybe not quite that bad, but it is chippier than usual. He was very gentle with me - I was traumatized as a kid at the dentist, which is why my mouth went to h*ll because I didn't want to be tortured anymore.

So the pain is gone, the tooth is gone, I'm feeling pretty good and able to eat well enough on my right side until the left side heals.

I have orders to take it easy for the next day or two, which I'll follow. We're meeting family for grand daughter's birthday this evening at Newport Seafood Grill, so I've already picked out/planned for the Seafood Cobb Salad.
emoticon
We won't get our kennel kid walking in this evening though, so I'm sure I'll miss that calorie burn. I'll take it easy with just a walk on Thursday instead of a run, and it's all good.

For the record I didn't find myself hungry at all even though yesterday was such a low calorie consumption day. That's great! May it continue that way.

So, with tomorrow being the last day of the month, I'm looking back and smiling.

That shows my weight loss from January 1 to today. The yellow line is the Spark line, for losing 1 lb per week. The blue twerpy line is my actual losses.

I've gone from 252 on Jan. 2 to 243 today.
emoticon emoticon emoticon
You can see my TOM week where the lbs shot back up, but they're gone again now. I didn't give up, I didn't stray (much) from my plan, either food- or fitness-wise.
I succeeded. I triumphed over fat this month.
emoticon

We need new emoticons - something that says "Fabulous!" and "H*ll Yeah!" and "You Rock!"
LOL

I'm happy. I'm healthy. I'm keepin' on.

emoticon on your weight loss in January! You got this!

As for girl crushes, I'm not into blondes either. I like 'em dark haired, just like I like my guys.

My girl crush is Nigella Lawson. Big sigh! NOw, for equal opportunity obligations....get onto Facebook and look at Butlers In The Buff, an Aussie company. I'm getting one or two butlers for my daughters' bridal shower. ;)

    Wow.. You are an inspiration!

I don't even want to look at my graph...(sigh)...its not pretty.

On the other hand, I went from (on the bench press machine) doing 35 lbs, to last night doing 50. So that is progress, right?
I think I'm going to try and take my measurements tonight.

Way to go Candy! You're doing great and it's all paying off.

Love the equal opportunity ogling...she IS beautiful.

Glad you got the tooth taken care of. I get the childhood trauma...was just lucky that my second dentist was a very close family friend "uncle" who was quick and painless. I have had more work done on my mouth than many people (root canals, bridge work, capping, extractions, etc.). Wishing your mouth a very quick healing period!

    emoticon on a fabulous January!!

You DO rock, Candy--awesome job this month! Sorry about the tooth, I know all about letting your teeth go (guilty as charged, dental insurance is nearly worthless at my work).
