Sluggish...what is the deal?

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

I have been SUPER sluggish this week!! I think Monday I was able to get over to the fitness center for some time on the bike and treadmill but I ABSOLUTELY. COULD. NOT. drag myself out of bed the last couple of mornings! I've been super paranoid about being pregnant bc I've been SOOOOO TIRED!! Plus my body still hasn't gotten back to normal after I had the IUD removed. But there was something else I was curious about that I was reading up on.

Someone posted something about The Master Cleanse. I didn't know what it was so I researched it. I'm still not 100% sure I know what it is, but I understand the process of ridding toxins from your body. I'm not particularly eating clean, but I have been cutting back (WAAAAYYYY Back) on the processed foods we've been eating. The Master Cleanse website talked about how you may feel really tired from the body repairing itself while the toxins are leaving the body. I'm wondering if that's part of what's going on with me. I've been trying to make everything fresh. I made a huge pot of homemade veggie and beef soup and I've been eating that most of the week. Instead of cooking Hamburger Helper I made a Hamburger Supper with ground turkey and all fresh veggies, red potatoes instead of pasta. And I've been doing really good at making fresh or frozen veggies as sides instead of the canned. I think the only processed food I've had all week was half a serving of pasta roni with dinner the other night. Do you think it's possible that this has helped get some of the toxins out of my body and I'm just feeling the effect of my body repairing itself? It was really bad yesterday! I went home from work and fell asleep for about an hour while the kids ran around the house, but I could not keep my eyes open!! I've been feeling sore and achey the last couple days even though I haven't worked out. But I don't feel like i'm coming down with anything!

I'm hoping my oldest will start to grasp the healthy eating thing. I talked to him last night, because he's the only one who can really understand, about how unhealthy certain things are. And he has sinus arithemia. He had a dr. appt. last week and I mentioned he had some chest pains a couple days earlier last week. He gave me some info on how MSG's can cause this medical issue to flare up. He said sodas are the worst. My son LOVES Mt. Dew. So we talked about MSGs and what foods contained them that I knew of. I think it scared him bc he didn't want to eat his dinner! I assured him everything was fresh and he eventually ate everything. I'm hoping he'll give up on the sodas though.

Going to try to fit in a Zumba workout tonight with my neighbor! She's going through a hard time, so I don't know if she'll be up for it.

if you are unable to drag yourself to the gym (trust me I know the feeling) try walking around your neighborhood. start with 10 min and see how you feel. take the kids too. I don't know about the master cleanse but i do know i have energy problems in January and February every year. it could simply be the winter blues. Although if it continues I would see a doctor

It get's better. It just sometimes sucks. Your dinner sounded pretty good. It's hard not to eat some many processed things but it does get a little easier once you get the hang of it.

Some weeks are better than others. Just stick with it the best you can.
