Things are not looking good for my niece at the moment. They were unable to do the surgery because her BP was low, HR was high and bleeding in her stomach. They are going to keep her in New Hampshire for the next TWO months to stabilizer her. There is no way they can do this surgery under these conditions. With 10 broken ribs and collapsed lung they can't flip her over to repair the crushed vertebrae. So they'll keep her sedated until she's more stabilized. I feel so bad for my entire family. They live in NY and this is NH. I don't have details on what they're going to do as her husband has a job he'll have to return to; her son has school. My sister and her husband will have to return to NY. I live in FL. They'll have to work out a schedule of who will stay with her over the next two months.
Because of the blood situation (can't take a transfusion under any circumstances), I don't know how long it will take to get to the point of surgery. Not to mention if she does recover she will lose her job not only for the amount of time she'll lose but she drives a school bus and she'll never be able to do that again.
Right now my biggest concern is that she just pulls through.
