Last Friday I was reading other members blog posts. There was one that crocheted a scarf and a light bulb went off! She provided the link which I will too and the scarf is so nice that I decided to try this.
I was meeting a friend in Petaluma to see her new house and then we went out for lunch in the charming downtown. Afterwards we were walking around, I bought some heirloom seeds for our garden and was telling my friend about the project I was thinking of. She took me to her local knit shop and a crocheter was born :).
The fibers were fantastic and I was pretty excited and bought yearn and a crochet hook. Now you have to understand that at this point I didn't know how to do it. I went back to the link that the other spark member provided and the photos didn't do it for me. Then I had the idea of going to YouTube and put the name of the stitch in and VOILA! I still couldn't understand it because I am left handed so searched for the left handed version and found that and was finally off and running. Here is the link and a photo of my finished product :). It really took my mind off food!
