I ended up going to see the doctor yesterday. I was pretty sure I had a sinus infection, and I was right. So now I am on antibiotics for the next 5 days. Good part is that I didn't push it off like I normally do until it's so bad that I need prednisone too. No prednisone this time! Woot!

So I had a 1 pound gain this past weigh in. I know this is not a big deal. I am not upset about it. I am just going to keep going forward. My doctor said to me yesterday that he could tell I've lost weight, and that he's happy about it. He didn't weigh me in, which is fine. Just seeing the difference was enough for me! The belt I use for when I used to EMT is on the last notch now. It used to be one the second notch from the beginning, so this is just further proof to me that this is working! Or should I say, that it's further proof that I am working?

I can say without doubt that I have shed bad habits and replaced them with better ones. Let's face it, the way we ate before coming here can be classified as a bad habit. Once we started paying attention to not only how much we were shovelling into our bodies, but exactly what we were filling ourselves with we started creating a habit. A better habit. Once we tracked everything we ate in a day, and saw where our struggling times were, we were able to create a better habit. I guess we can say that Sparkpeople is habit forming! emoticon

Time to get back on track, sinus infection or no sinus infection. I have to move my body every day in some way. It's a nice day out today temperature wise. It's going to be nearly 60, which for New England is a rare thing in January! It's damp, it's going to get gusty winds, but I think I will take a ten minute walk at lunch today. Tonight Plex and I are planning to do some resistance band training and some Wii Fit time. To get the 30 minutes in tonight, I thought it would be good to split it up. I know I saw some videos on here for resistance bands, so I will poke through those later today when I am waiting for Plex to pick me up from work. See if I can't find something interesting for us to try!

    I hope the medicine helps and the infection goes away for you soon. That is so good when a doctor notices you have lost weight without even taking your weight on the scale and good to see the difference with a belt. Good for you.

    Sounds like you are doing really well with SP...it does build good habits and helps to get rid of the bad ones..

    i agree about habits. SP has effectively helped me ditch bad habits and incorporate healthier habits into my healthier lifestyle. Congrats on your current belt-notch status!

    I hope you are now on the way to getting better. These sicknesses seem to have a way of returning so take care.

How nice it is to actually see the loss as with your belt. It shows all your hard work.
Don't push the exercise until you can breathe good. I know, I'm back to being sick again, ;(
