I'm about 7 pounds from my goal weight now. Sunday I wanted to wear a dress for a presentation at church, and the only long-sleeved one I have, I have regarded as my small dress because the matching belt is so small in circumference.
The belt ends on this dress wouldn't even meet when I began this journey in November. I tried it on just to see if I could squeeze into it and found that the belt was a bit loose! Yay!
When I showed my husband, he looked the outfit over and told me that the whole dress is now too big for me. (I'd totally missed that in my concentration on the waist.) Double Yay!!
Monday I bought a couple of longer tops that were size small. (Me, small?) Yesterday I wore one and thought the waist of my pants seemed big through the knit of the tee-shirt. I have pants the next size smaller tucked away from before, so I brought out the size 6 jeans and tried them on. They fit beautifully. Triple Yay!!!
Why do I wait so long to try on my smaller stuff? I could have worn some of these things and gotten a motivation boost from them. Later this week, I'll be going through all the clothes in my closet and removing those too big and adding those that are the right size now. That's rather motivational in itself!
Don't forget to try on smaller clothes every so often. You may be surprised at how your body is changing!
