Food for Thought

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

I saw this on my FB page this morning, what a simple way to put things into prospective, real "food for thought"

Life has been cray-zeeeeee here, lots of unexpected inferences. Seems like all I do is training, training, and more training. I'm hanging in there, but I can say it is getting tough and grueling. 35 miles on tap for this week with a 16-mile long run on Saturday. It's really hard to look at 16-miles as being fun, lol, but always a great feeling of accomplishment when it's over.

One more month of amping up the mileage, then it's all downhill from there. I can hang tough for FOUR MORE WEEKS. I'm doing it, no excuses.

Just hang tough, as you always do. In 4 weeks the rewards will be plenty. The very best.

That rule does not apply to Honey! (just wanted to point that out since I am a beekeeper!) Honey never goes bad and is an excellent natural sweetner! Thank you for sharing the wonderful blog! ;)

Just one more month? Wow--and then you will...?

The thing about anticipating something for me is that once it's done, I end up wondering what to do with myself. When we visited my girls' pediatrician the other day, he asked when we wanted to schedule a meeting with a geneticist, and when we thought about "trying for the boy." My husband told him that everything for us ends at our daughter's surgery, in March--after that, we have no plans right now, because we're working our way to that.

And the doctor said something I'm going to be keeping in my heart for this next month and a half of anticipation and worrying: that after the surgery is when we can really start our lives. That we should not look toward that as any kind of ending, but as the beginning.

Which is all really to say, one more month? When you're done you'll be able to think about how easy it would all be to do again!

(They say these things are addictive, and they may just be right.)
