January 30, 2013 SHOW MERCY
If you think you have wasted too much time in life not doing God’s will, think about Paul from the Bible. He went a long time going against God but when he turned around and worked for God, he made a big difference the rest of his life. We can’t change the past but we do have right now. We can make a difference not because who we are but because God will be working through us using us for His will. It is never too late. God is good and He is ready to use us now. We don’t need to delay another minute. Let’s get busy doing God’s work now and show mercy to others.
James 2:12-13 “Speak and act as those who are going to be judged by the law that gives freedom, because judgment without mercy will be shown to anyone who has not been merciful. Mercy triumphs over judgment! (NIV)
Dear Lord, we know that things become clearer when we start doing something. Things will begin to feel right and things fall into place when we turn from selfishness and sin and turn toward doing Your will. You are so good to us. Help us to show mercy to others and help them because it is the right thing to do. Help us to forget about our past and begin to live for You today. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
No matter what your past, you can turn to God today and ask for His mercy.
Thinking you aren’t good enough to become a Christian is wrong. God loves us all wants to save us all…no matter what our past is.
There are many in the Bible who had a bad past, who made mistakes but turned to God and started a new life. We can too!
Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked change their ways and banish the very thought of doing wrong. Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will forgive generously” (NLT)
