At the end of 2012 I decided to give up on my exercise classes thinking I could do just as well within the confine of my house and doing yoga with other over 60's for 1 hr 1 day a week, together with the same number of minutes worth of Qi Gong on a Thursday. Both I love but the exercise classes were beginning to get boring. I forced myself out to some of the classes rather than give up and left feeling the same - bored and as though I hadn't made any difference to my health. However on receipt of my pedometer which logs every step accurately & doesn't fall off I felt I had to go and do some steps. I charged the thing up yesterday after yoga and a walk and by the time evening had come after a half hour of aerobics a miles walk and then another half hour of zumba and then walking from room to room I'd very proudly logged up 9,552 steps. Was so happy and spurred on to keep going. Will be walking to tonights exercises and have been offered a lift home so looking forward to seeing the results of my efforts. Zumba was fantastic last night I overheard someone at another class saying how it was so hard & thought well the dvds were hard work & the reason I gave up Zumba down the road in the first place. I kept up with the youngsters most of the time and am still buzzing from it - that's saying something. Another of my observations was seeing stick thin people coming to that "Slimming club". I realise that attending this club is cheaper than going to the gym or classes at the Leisure centre & that that particular class is really worth attending. So that's it I'm sticking to the classes the more activity the better.
