I am not one to shy away from winter walks. I love winter and snow; although just like summer, I tire of it toward the end and crave spring.
Ohio weather is all over the place. Below zero one day, in the 40's the next. On Monday when I got out for this walk, the temperature had risen to the mid forties so there was a beautiful mist over the valley as the snow melted. The walk was slushy so I was glad for my Boggs which kept my feet warm and dry so I could get a long hike in.
The river looks so serene in the mist, with a light ice cover. The cascades were rushing though. The ice made everything much more dramatic.
I feel so fortunate to have such a gorgeous place to hike.
First, thank you for the goodie today .... I loved my star. Made me smile.
Second, thank you so much for sharing your hike in pictures. It is absolutely beautiful!! Your Stella looks so happy to play in the snow too. My Lydia would love it. She's a Siberian Husky. The one time that we've gotten snow here in Mississippi since I've had her, she refused to come back inside LOL She loved it! She is the only reason I'd love some snow here ;) Otherwise, I love my Mississippi. Our winters are just mild springs LOL
All in all, I loved your pictures. Looking at the water....I could just imagine the sounds and the crisp air as you stand near there. Just beautiful! Thank you again!!
Great photos! My older son and his wife live outside of Dayton. We've only visited twice, but were really impressed with the really nice hiking not too far from them. My profile picture is actually from a park there. Are you near Dayton, or are good hiking parks all over Ohio? Oh, and if you want some snow, head on over here to Wisconsin - we're looking at about six inches before the day ends. You can help me shovel! 1696 days ago
