Why do I want to lose weight?
I don't want health issues that come with age and excess weight: high blood pressure, diabetes, limited mobility. I want to be able to stay active. The memory of my father, who suffered from these, makes me not want to go there. I had to have knee surgery this past year. My blood pressure was always reading high. I saw myself heading down a path I didn't want to take. I want to emulate my mother, who was very active and full of life to her dieing day.
I want to be an example for my children and grandchildren.
Most of all: I want to honor God. My body is His temple. "Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?" I Cor. 6:19
