Push That Tush - Never too Late

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

SINGH STARTED RUNNING AT 89 YEARS OF AGE
AN EXAMPLE THAT WILLPOWER
CAN TAKE YOU TO SOME PRETTY CRAZY PLACES IN LIFE.

Fauja Singh, the 101-year-old marathon man dubbed the “Turbaned Tornado” who gave us 12 years of incredibly slow but consistent inspiration. He’s finally admitted that age has caught up to him and he will retire from competitive running after the Hong Kong Marathon on February 24th. ....

HE’S NOT GOING TO STOP RUNNING, JUST COMPETING

watching the video was a little humorous...
you're waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting....
It's a little like watching a race between the tortoise and the hare
but eventually....there he is.

I probably wouldn't have even made it to the finish line

I read so many inspiring blogs here at Spark, about people who have made running and hiking a big part of their lives...
You hear about 10 miles this, 10 miles that...
and I think : WOW, I wish I could do that.
and a second later ... I convince myself that I can't.
But so many of them started somewhere...and I don't have to run...

I JUST HAVE TO START

I'm about to participate in another challenge soon...
8 weeks of being in my own personal bootcamp
{...With my Coach Nicole exercise videos to Push me...}

have a great day

  Hi Sheryl.........
You are so right!!! "We just have to start." It doesn't have to be an exercise that everyone else is doing. It just has to be one that we WILL DO and get results from. We are each individuals and will choose what works for us.

Nobody started knowing everything or being the best at anything. Start where you are and you can only get better!

Good luck in your challenge and I'll be cheering for you!

My mom still does cross country skiing at 76--she started in her 60s--and my dad splits and hauls his out wood--at 79--so maybe I CAN do this stuff in my 70s!

I've just started using Coach Nicole's new DVD... so far I like it! I too daydream about running... I loved it when I was young, but I'm afraid at this weight and age of damaging my joints or falling, but I do throw a little jogging into my walks sometimes. Best success with your boot camp!!!
