Wow I did it!!!! My first ever blog :)

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Losing weight is such a personal journey, one of the hardest things one can do is make it public. I applaud all the brave and truly inspiring members of Spark plus all creators of weight loss blogs online. You are the ones that remind the lonely that they are not alone! You inspire and give hope to those who really need it most, Thank You for giving of yourselves so that others such as myself may find our true selves and the joy that being healthy brings.

So now for my own motivation for starting a blog, for me it is part therapy and part accountability. Writing has always been a way of expressing my feelings and ridding myself of negative energy. Even when I was really little :) Sometimes seeing something written down can really put things in perspective and give a person a reality check. Blogging indulges this part of my personality and allows me to at least give my fingers a work out lol

Blogging also makes me accountable. The reality for many of us trapped in the ridiculousness of the "Diet" trap and agony of sugar addiction is that we after a while we don't talk about it. It becomes a dirty secret. It is easier to get into the "I will start tomorrow " trap, nobody knows so I will now inhale the contents of the fridge and possibly the cupboard tonight, but next day it's like being stuck in a loop because the guilt, lack of self control and self loathing kick in and once again you are in the drive trough ordering a "meal for two" for one!

By blogging I have to be honest and face up to what I am doing, by putting myself into such a public arena I have to take ownership of my actions, it assists me in being mindful. Being present and in the moment stops mindless eating, besides this it is a great tool to apply to all areas in your life. Please read more about this topic, there is a wealth of information online and it is well worth having a look :)

Until my next entry, be safe, be happy and be healthy

Peace out!

    emoticon on the first blog!!!

Blogging does bring a very personal thing into the public and that can be very scary for some people. It took me a while before I would even comment on other peoples blog because I was scared.

You have seemed to embrace it wonderfully!! We are all in this together and we are here to support, encourage and motivate each other!!

It's strange how difficult it is to make it public, considering that you're doing such a great thing and it's something to be proud of. But a blog is a great way of involving people in your journey, thank you for sharing it!
