"Why 80 Percent of People Worldwide Will Soon Stop Eating Wheat"
Prevent Disease: goo.gl/sJJTC

Discovery News: goo.gl/Ms9tM
"...the thought of eliminating (wheat) these staples from our diets seems wholly unreasonable, if not ludicrous. But a growing number of people are switching to wheat-free diets - and for very good reason. As science is increasingly showing, eating wheat increases the potential for a surprising number of health problems."

Thank you for the information in your post. I was totally wheat free and gluten free back in the 90's when my doctor told me I had an allergy to it. Unfortunately, after reading so many articles telling you how Oats and Grains are so good for you, I went back to eating it. In a very short period of time, I gained back the weight I lost and am at the highest weight ever. Now, after reading about how Wheat, Corn and Soy are now mostly GMO, I have started eliminating it from my diet once again and am feeling so much better and the weight is slowly coming off. I just started reading the Wheat Belly Book and am trying to Research and Educate Myself to find what is right for me.

Thanks again!

Yep, took it away from me a few years ago. Much better without.

I will be in the 20%. I love pasta and artisan breads
in moderate amounts. I ate them while I lost 60
pounds and I eat them now. I actually know plenty
of healthy people who eat wheat without issue.

I will not eat it since it messes with my stomach and other parts of my body.

Loved the info. I know the effect wheat has on me. I need to dump it once and for all.

I avoid wheat most of the time, but occasionally succumb to pizza. Some places have gluten-free crusts, and I've been meaning to make my own.

Thx for an articulate article that explains the science in everyday terms.
I've been gluten free since 2007.

It makes it harder to eat out or at a friends house... but it pretty much eliminates a LOT of temptation... leading to better weight control.

True for some. Not for me. I eat organic wheat. I believe that the genetically altered foods are what causes problems. People with celiac disease should avoid wheat. The article is interesting, though.

I've read and heard about wheat causing all sorts of problems, but I never really paid that much attention to what everyone else does. I do sometimes have a lot of bloating after eating whole wheat bread, but I just blew it off as normal.

emoticon for posting, I might have to take a closer look at what's going on.

Very interesting. I have been thinking of giving up
wheat for a long time because I do get bloated.
After eating this article, I am more inclined to do so.
