ONE DAY YOU CRAVE CHEESECAKE AND THE OTHER DAY YOU CRAVE CHIPS OR PEANUTS.

WHETHER YOU KNOW IT OR NOT --- WITH NON HUNGRY EATING YOUR FOOD CHOICES SERVES AS MIRRORS INDICATING WHAT TYPE OF EMOTIONAL NEED YOU ARE EXPERIENCING.

HEAD HUNGRY DRIVES YOU TO--CHEWY, CRUNCHY LIKE CHIPS, POPCORN, NUTS AND A SPECIFIC CANDY BAR. . IT ALSO STARTS WITH A SPECIFIC FOOD THOUGHT OR CRAVING. IN OTHER WORDS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT TO EAT. A FOOD THOUGHT COMES TO MIND CHIPS, POPCORN OR A CANDY BAR. FOOD LIKE CHIPS, AND NUTS. FOODS WITH A DENSE CHEWY TEXTURE ALSO HAMBURGERS, PIZZA AND CHOCOLATE ARE IN THIS CATEGORY. THEY HAVE A SMASH IN YOUR MOUTH SENSATION.

HEAD HUNGRY IS USUALLY CONNECTED TO PRESSURE TYPE EMOTIONS, ANGER, FRUSTRATION OR RESENTMENT. IT CAN ALSO HAPPEN WHEN YOU TRY AND AVOID FEELINGS OF GRIEF OR PAINFUL EMOTIONS. REASONS FOR HEAD HUNGRY INCLUDE STRESS, DEADLINES, OR OTHER PEOPLE.

WHEN YOU ARE HAVING A CRAVING FOR SOMETHING CHEWY OR CRUNCHY ASK YOURSELF "WHAT DO I REALLY WANT TO CHEW ON?" TRY TO FIGURE WHAT IS IRRITATING, BOTHERING OR STRESSING YOU OUT AT THE MOMENT. IT MAY BE THE KIDS, MONEY, FRIENDS, PROJECT DEADLINES. OR A DIFFICULT JOB.

WHEN THE SOURCES OF HEAD HUNGRY IS FOUND ASK YOURSELF "WILL EATING CHANGE THIS ISSUE"? "CAN IT HELP WITH THESE PROBLEMS"? EATING MAY SEEM TO HELP THE PROBLEM BUT AFTER EATING THE FOOD THE SITUATION REMAINS. EATING IS A BAND-AID THAT POSTPONES WHAT YOU REALLY NEED TO DO IN ORDER TO COPE WITH LIVE ISSUES.

SOLUTIONS THAT KEEP YOU FROM HEADING TO THE CUPBOARD OR REFRIGERATOR DURING HEAD HUNGRY..TRY SOME INSTEADS

(FOR ME) ANGRY --TALK IT OUT BETWEEN THE OFFENDER OR WRITE ABOUT IT ON PAPER THE BURN IT..TO RELEASE IT FROM YOU.

ASK FOR SUPPORT FROM A VERY SUPPORTIVE TEAM.

TAKE DEEP BREATHS ---YES WAS SHOCKED TO FIND OUT THAT THEY WORK...BUT THEY DO!

(FOR ME) RELY ON MY FAITH..TAKE IT TO GOD.

BUT THE BOOK HAD OTHER SUGGESTIONS LIKE SCREAM AT YOUR STEERING WHEEL.

    I enjoyed this Blog. It will help me think about WHY I'm having cravings, and what to do when I'm having them. I usually just eat whatever comes to mind, or if I can't, I just wait ( sometimes even days) and then I'll pig-out on it! This get out of control sometimes and can ruin my healthy eating plan for long periods of time,

    I call is MOUTH HUNGER. I have taken the food and chewed it and SPIT IT OUT rather than swallowed it and have it in my body. The craving will pass in about 10 minutes of doing that.
