Post Surgery

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Seven days since having my gastric sleeve surgery. The incisions are healing, but still bruised and I'm still working on getting all the fluid in that I need to. I did do 30 minutes on the treadmill and only had a bit of a stitch in my side but not walking as fast as I would like to. The surgeon said to take it easy though while recovering and because I can't drink a lot at one time, need to make sure I don't dehydrate. I'm feeling pretty good though and my blood sugars are way down. I've cut my meds to 1/2 a metforman a day only.

Once I see the doctor tomorrow will get more direction on what she wants done with my meds.

Sounds like you're doing great if you're on the treadmill already. Don't push yourself too hard. Your body is still healing and you need rest. Don't worry about getting all your liquids in at one go. Just keep drinking throughout the day. It takes me till 2:30 to finish my first 3 cups. Then I fill it up and start again. But I get it done by the time I go to bed.

Welcome to the Gastric Sleevers. This is a supportive group. I hope you'll come to the forums and post and get to know that gals there. We have some really nice people who are undrstanding and help you through the hard times.

Best wishes for continued healing and weight loss.
