Beautiful snow but no photos, sorry.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

We expected snow so it was no surprise it was WHITE outside this morning. We did very little i had left dishes from last night so I picked up and decided I had to move the snow. DH was doing his PT so I gave him his cell phone just in case he needed something. We use the phones often now and when I am outdoors I know he can always talk to me. That helps the anxiety level.

Once outside I realised it was powdered snow not the wet kind. I used the Whisk broom to clear the deck off. I realised i did not need the blower. I used the scoop just walking leisurely over the driveway it is big but the snow just moved ever so easily it was like walking with nothing. I did not have to lift it I made it leap off the scoop. I had such a good time i was warm there was no wind it was great.

After the snow was removed I actually SWEPT the driveway with the broom. It was actually warm and so the driveway was drying because of the hot top.

I went in to the house and suggested DH take a short walk outside with his cane, I reassured him there is no ice.

We have three steps from the deck with no rail, this is the first time he has been outside walking but it was such a good opportunity.

He had his cane, he did the steps with me hovering and then he was on the driveway. He was really pleased with himself. The air was so clear and not very cold and together we walked around the driveway. He checked out the RV from the outside and checked in the garage.
He saw a few things I must do and it was great to be walking together.

Tomorrow is DH Birthday and I had hope we could go out to eat but alas we are forecast freezing rain so it will have to be later in the week.

Never the less we know he can do it and we are both happy about our little walk, outdoors in the snow scene exactly 14 days from surgery.
It feels good HUGS Spark friends I feel good.
I got another day of exercise so it is getting me MOTIVATED' emoticon emoticon

    Pat

I'm glad to hear Fred is able to get around more. Pretty soon he will be running laps back and forth to the road! LoL

Am glad to have found you but still not getting notifications of your blog but now I know how to find you.

Am hearing about all the tornadoes creating havoc all over, now it is moving towards WA DC and NY. They will be holding on to their hats shortly.

emoticon Fred. I know you will have a great day.

I much prefer those powdery snows. Much easier to deal with! I'm glad your work load wasn't too big and that your hubby was able to get outside.

I hope you hubby has a happy birthday and that the freezing rain doesn't materialize.

I am glad that I have gotten back in touch with you. I wasn't receiving your notifications any more. Now I know why.

It is good that the snow was light. I am glad that you had so much fun moving it around. I am hoping that we don't get too much freezing rain today.

I didn't know that Fred had a surgery. What was his problem? I am having surgery on February 8th on my left thumb. He is going to take out a small bone and replace it with some tendon or ligament. I don't know for sure yet. I have to see him on the 5th and will find out then. I will let you know.

Happy Birthday to Fred. I hope that he has a good day and that you get to go and eat out soon.

Best wishes to you both.

a great day after all the hard work you have done.
Wow, hubby is really doing well and good on him
for going outside. It's hard to believe it has been
two weeks already since the surgery. He is going
to be walking unaided before you know it. Wish him
a Happy Birthday for tomorrow. emoticon

HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow.. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Way to go, for the feather weight snow. Made short work for you. A good thing since your expecting more.

We are expecting more snow too. After the frigged -34F and wind chills -37 and 3 days of that, it turned mild. This is our 3rd day of melting snow and dirty slush on the roads. Cold and humidity just chills the bones.

Looking for clear days so you can celebrate the birthday with your special lunch.

Take care. emoticon emoticon emoticon

It sounded like you had an all around AWESOME day! emoticon emoticon I love going out and shoveling, it is good exercise but does make it nicer when it's the fluffy kind and not to cold. I hope you weather stays tolerable so you and DH can go celebrate his birthday.

Way to go on your exercise...Keep it up, I know when I do I feel so much better.

emoticon Sounds like a great day to me. I'm glad the snow was so light. I like that kind of snow. We are supposed to get mixed snow and rain tomorrow, that could be a mess.

Say Happy Birthday to your DH - I feel like I know him. emoticon

Sounds like he is doing great with his recovery - good for him for venturing outside.

Have a great sleep.

By the way - I feel good too.
