My little dog has been with us for one year.

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

One year ago we adopted a little rescue dachshund that needed a loving home.
We had lost our 14 year old dachshund the year before and our house was just not the same without a little dog to terrorize and keep us moving all the time. So I looked into 2cd hand hounds and found little Juno's picture on line and fell in love with her. It is very interesting how they interview you and even come to your home to make sure you are a fit parent for this little creature. Juno joined us on a cold winter morning and we have never regretted bringing her into our home. She is now a little pampered princess but she gives us so much love and she is one of the sweetest little dogs I have ever had.
If anyone out there is looking into getting a pet, I would highly recommend looking into rescue pets. They love you more than ever for giving them a new forever home!
Our beautiful little Juno. The vet says she needs a lifestyle change to as she has gained weight since joining our family but she doesn't seem to agree. Once the weather is nice again, Juno will be out going for long walks but for now we have cut down on puppy treats.
Have a great Tuesday evening everyone!

What a darling face your little Juno has. Weight gain is hard on animals just like it is hard on us. Check with the Vet - but I think you can give your Pup veggies instead of biscuits and Doggie treats. You would be amazed that once they adapt to them - the veggies become their treats...Best wishes from LI, NY

Hello there..I loved the picture of your puppy..She is soo cute..Is so nice to find someone who shares the love of animals as I do..I have two spoiled pound puppys at my house...Not sure how to add their pictures on here or even to my page..but I will learn..We got our first puppy from the pound in 03 and she stole my heart completely..then we got Cooper Doo in 09..Angel really needs to diet with her mommy..So I to will be taking her out for walks this spring..Will be good for her and I both..

Loved this blog, and how lucky Juno is to have found such a loving home, and that you have found her! I am "foster mum" to a couple of maltese Bichon dogs who will be 3 next week. I love them to bits, and they bring so much joy into my home. On the plus side they love a walk every day so it is good for me as well! On the not so good side they like to steal socks and bury them in the garden - I am forever looking for missing socks, and they look at me so innocently when I interrogate them!

That is so awesome you got a rescue dog! She is a cutie!! Love her coloring-different than most you see!
We talked to a couple people out on our walks who had rescued Greyhounds. They are the coolest dogs!!! I love that idea, just wish I wasn't allergic to them! emoticon
My parents adopted a shelter dog and she was so special! emoticon emoticon

Ohhhhh my gosh .. Juno looks so much like my dog scooter ( he is in heaven ) I miss him so much. Scooter was part dachshund and part beagle and was black in color. I know your Juno is going to be well pampered.

Here is a treat for Juno before she starts her new healthy lifestyle emoticon their vegan bits emoticon
