Wet dog... wet me!

So I set out on my morning walk under beautiful weather conditions. But that didn't last... oh no, definitely not! Around miles 4 it started raining, then it started pouring, then the thunder and lightning started. Cooper was NOT a happy pup! I ended up carrying him the last 1.5 miles inside my jacket. Even that didn't help much as I was just wearing a denim jacket, not a raincoat. It soaked through the denim jacket, the hoodie I was wearing as well as the turtleneck and tshirt I had on. My boots got soaked, as did my jeans. I changed into dry things on my top half, but left on the jeans because, yes, I can be a moron at times. I could not get warm... and it didn't occur to me until I was sitting in the restaurant with my friend having lunch that it was probably the clammy jeans I was wearing. Doh! I did eventually dry out, except my hair which is still damp. Cooper got warmed up and dried out by running around my apartment like a crazy dog and rubbing up against all the furniture.

I am going to do my best to get to the gym tomorrow, but plans are evolving with my niece that may prevent it. I will have to play it by ear and stay flexible. If it isn't raining tomorrow I might just run outside, as the temperature is mild enough and the sidewalks are clear. For some reason I still feel self conscious about running outside. I have no troubles running at the gym. I wish I had someone to run with me. I think that would help a lot.

Today I walked a total of 10.1 miles and did 45 modified pushups and 24 big girl pushups. That's enough, don't you think?! (They helped get me warm again though.)

I tried to look up how many fitness points you get for carrying your dog 1.5 miles, but it wasn't listed.

Whatever you're doing is working, keep it up.

And Featured Blog today as well!!?!?! Good for you! I am so proud of you and that we are kidred spirits in the fact the the weather does not effect my getting outside to walk. I walk even when it is raining, I just put on 2 pairs of socks and get out there and walk under the umbrellu. Of course sometimes the silly dogs will follow me along the trip, which means they have to go straight into the bathe when the get home.

Wet dog is a not a scent used in air freshening for a reason!

Keep rocking it, dollface!

sounds like you have a great exercise routine going. That is my downfall. I know I just have to do it, but there is always an excuse for "I'll do it later on"

I have always wondered if you do all your walking outside, or if you ever resort to a treadmill when the weather is terrible- this post gives me a clue. You continue to amaze and inspire me
