Wet dog... wet me!

So I set out on my morning walk under beautiful weather conditions. But that didn't last... oh no, definitely not! Around miles 4 it started raining, then it started pouring, then the thunder and lightning started. Cooper was NOT a happy pup! I ended up carrying him the last 1.5 miles inside my jacket. Even that didn't help much as I was just wearing a denim jacket, not a raincoat. It soaked through the denim jacket, the hoodie I was wearing as well as the turtleneck and tshirt I had on. My boots got soaked, as did my jeans. I changed into dry things on my top half, but left on the jeans because, yes, I can be a moron at times. I could not get warm... and it didn't occur to me until I was sitting in the restaurant with my friend having lunch that it was probably the clammy jeans I was wearing. Doh! I did eventually dry out, except my hair which is still damp. Cooper got warmed up and dried out by running around my apartment like a crazy dog and rubbing up against all the furniture.

I am going to do my best to get to the gym tomorrow, but plans are evolving with my niece that may prevent it. I will have to play it by ear and stay flexible. If it isn't raining tomorrow I might just run outside, as the temperature is mild enough and the sidewalks are clear. For some reason I still feel self conscious about running outside. I have no troubles running at the gym. I wish I had someone to run with me. I think that would help a lot.

Today I walked a total of 10.1 miles and did 45 modified pushups and 24 big girl pushups. That's enough, don't you think?! (They helped get me warm again though.)

Luckily, whenever it started raining on me while I was running, it only lasted 20-30 seconds. Mmm... Vegas weather!

Sounds like you had workout in the worst way. I can't imagine forgetting to pull off soaking jeans, but hey you survived it and that's quite a walk.

I live in the Pacific Northwest. I try to call rain "liquid sunshine" if that helps. Needless to say, both of my dogs have raincoats and I am constantly toweling them off after our walks. Spring is coming, so hang in there!

I tend to wear shorts for most of the year. Not because it is warm ( it isn't!) but because it is always raining. Then I come home, towel dry the dog and towel dry my legs and THEN put on a pair of fleece pants. I hate wearing wet clammy pants!

I take it this is a very small dog since you were able to carry him under your jacket. I couldn't possibly do that with my dog as she weighs about 60 pounds!

If you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes. Oh so true.

Look around when you walk outside, see the wonders of God and some of the everydays things we just take for granite. Its funny how we can walk past something for years without really seeing it.
