Some random thoughts and rambling

I'm burning a good 2300 calories per week, and mostly staying within my calorie range (or just barely over it some days). I still weigh what I did after I was sick last month. Yeah, yeah, I know, "at least I haven't gained" but that's sounding rather hollow at this point. I've made a note to talk with my psych dr when I go in some weeks. A side effect of lithium is weight gain. I'd love to be able to blame that, and then get her to change my meds. But I'm not sure that's going to happen. Oh well, we WILL talk. I'm better toned, which is good, even though I can't wear smaller clothes. And as I've said before, I'm too cussed stubborn to give up. I need to lose about 40 pounds......really. Moving on now, I refuse to give in to depression.

Since the month is about over, not only is the fitness challenge about over, but so is the (yarn) stash-busting challenge. I've done rather well, if I say so myself......and yes, I just did. LOL But I do still have large plastice totes full of yarn. Starting after we get back from Utah, I'm going to start work on things for sale at the fall craft fair. I have a few 'new' things to make, and am eager to see how that works out.

Speaking of going to Utah, we'll be going to Ogen to watch four Weber State University basketball games. DH talked with some folks at the university, and we'll have seats on the floor for two of the games! emoticon Maybe we can 'score' some sweat emoticon or at least one of the t-shirts they always throw into the stands. Go Wildcats!

Please do not stress over your weight my dear.

OK 40 is your goal. Cool.

If you slip up keep trying but do not let it push

you into depression, enough other junk we allow

to do that already.

    Isn't that the most frustrating thing???? I know that I have upped my steps and I do lots of physical activity working in the yard/garden on almost a daily basis and I am only losing 1-2 lbs a month now. Like you, I am determined to get down to my goal-not sure when that will happen, I just know it will someday!!! The only good thing is I am going down in size on my clothes so I am losing inches!

    Good going on the fitness and stash-busting challenges. And, yes, you should say so yourself!! Give yourself credit. Having the talk with the prescriber of your meds may help if that is the culprit. Maybe the meds are the problem.

But maybe not. It is so easy to eat too much. When I switched from measuring my 1/2 cup of oatmeal daily to weighing out on my electronic scale the 40 grams the 1/2 cup should be, I discovered I'd been eating 45 grams every morning, more than 10% more than I thought. Things like that add up. Best wishes for finding the healthy foods and combination of foods that satisfy you!! -Marsha

    Nancy, I hate to say it, but I didn't lose ANY weight the first 8 weeks I was doing HIIT because I was still not keeping my calories low enough. It's very frustrating, but I'm learning that the 80% nutrition, 20% exercise equation is about accurate. Grrr. Now that I'm eating under 2000 calories 6 days a week, I'm actually losing weight. If it makes you angry, you're in good company. I'm a stubborn cuss because I hate changing my eating habits especially when I'm working out so hard. Please feel free to vent and I'll co-vent right along side you. I'm glad to hear you won't give in to depression. For me, depression lasts longer than venting. Or whatever works for you to get through it!
Lol, have fun with the sweaters that come out of your yarn box and the sweat-ers at the Wee-ber game!

    I am on some meds that has that weight gain side effect. I am having a hard time losing, but I have lost some, and a lady that I clean her house the other day asked me. I had only lost maybe 1 pound since I had seem her. I told her that and she ask if I was still going to curves, I said yes, She said you are toning up. It made me feel good someone else noticed. Hang in there. Have a great time in Utah. I hope you catch a shirt.
