Biggest Loser - finally some nutition

Biggest Loser last night finally addressed nutrition. Dolvett said that weigh-ins are won in the kitchen as much as they are won in the gym. The contestants were sent to the grocery store to shop for healthy foods on a budget. They were given $10/person/day. They concentrated on lean meats and veggies.

Chef Devin Alexander at BL (who lost 70 pounds & kept it off!) said Don't sacrifice flavor for health. She offered recipes like South-of-the-Border Loaded Sweet Potato for 342 calories.

I haven't been working out as much as I would like. If I don't get to the gym today, I'll do my Turbo DVD. Promise!

The scale is looking good! I was 179.6 and it feels so good to be under 180 again!

    I saw that BL episode and wondered if I could shop for a week on $10 a day? Cereal, milk, yogurt, probably tuna...might look at the packaged veggies differently than I do now.

    I would have liked even more on the nutrition, but yes, nice that it was addressed and the fact that it is just as important, if not more, than the exercise was good to hear.

    I was initially excited about that episode, and then disappointed with it. Why didn't they go in to more detail about WHAT they ate? Show us the food! I wonder if they're afraid of scaring off people by showing us their meals? I suspect they are pretty...umm....non-exciting. Lol.

For me nutrition has always been the #1 factor in weighloss, exercise not so much.
