Daily Weight Fluctuations

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Well, that .6 found me again this morning. No biggie. I am entertaining the thought of weighing every other day, but somehow I just love to step on it every morning to see if anything has changed. I don't depend on it for absolute accuracy. There are other ways to tell I'm losing. For example, my slacks all fit a tad bit better, even after losing 4+ pounds. And that's wonderful. So I'm sticking with it and am still very encouraged.

You should be encouraged - you're continuing on your journey to becoming healthy!

The scale is great for telling you your relation to gravity - not so great for non-scale victories - like how your clothes are fitting, whether you're faithfully tracking your nutrition and water intake every day, and how the monthly measurements you take are either staying the same or going down - not going back up!

A little too much sodium and the scale will reflect that water weight gain right away!

That's why I make sure I'm also tracking the amount of sodium I eat, because then I can point to something concrete and make sure I'm extra vigilant about purchasing/eating low or no sodium food.

You can do it!

tape your self (cloth tape measure) tape you arms, waist, thighs, calves...etc that's where you will see the most progress , and it doesn't go up and down like the numbers on the scales. best of luck to you!!

I do the same. I guess I have gotten used to the ups and downs. Do you record it in your trackers? That way you can pull up a graph that will show downward movement.

I feel the same as you about the scale and the pants size. Whether or not your clothes fit better is a much better of how you are doing but there is something about getting on the scale every morning that is so enticing
