Set Backs and Come Backs

Do you ever have empty days? You know those days where no matter what you eat you never seem to get full. I had an empty day yesterday. Thankfully all I ate was healthy food but healthy food still has a calorie cost. Sometimes I wonder if we are preprogrammed to have these days come up. Like our bodies are preparing for something. Today is not an empty day.

Thankfully I had an hour workout yesterday to make up for some of my empty day nomming. I bumped my level up to 2 on the elliptical and it was a lot more intense than I expected. I did the entire hour but only made it 4 miles. Today though when I backed it down to 1 I hit my five k faster than ever. I also did my first in a very long time, 10 minute mile! That's one of my goals I can cross off my list! Super excited. Not only that but my 5k was done in 33.11 minutes. Blasted past my previous best time. So what's next on my fitness goals? Two things are in the works for February, improving my flexibility so I can do the splits and a 30 minute 5k. Three more days and I've blasted past January with much success.

    ugh I hate them kind of days!!!! I had one about two weeks ago. I ate way to many pizza slices. I was trying and trying to keep myself preoccupied so I wouldn't think about it, but it didn't work.

    I agree with runninggal that I do think a breakfast as she described does wonders. I usually eat a banana, fiber one cereal with milk and a glass of oh. keeps me full for quite some time.

    as far as successes.... I managed to kick the 6 pounds that I wanted to lose. I have been eating more fruits. I also have been eating a salad every other day like I wanted.

    Def had those empty days too! Sounds like you minimized the damage as best you could.

    January has been a great month for me with several goals met. It's been a long time since I could summarize a month that way ! emoticon

    I hate those empty days. I must drink a coupla gallons of hot tea or water trying to keep myself tricked into feeling full.

    I have noticed that eating a big breakfast with veggies or higher fiber fruit helps. For example, two eggs, a slice of high fiber bread, a half an apple cut up in a half cup of cottage cheese keeps me better than just just a bowl of cereal.
