Walking again....need to force myself to do paperwork!

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

I'm clearly recovering from the crazy cough and asthma I had for the past two weeks. Two days ago, I could barely walk ten minutes very slowly. Yesterday, I did two 10 minute walks on the treadmilll and a 15 minute walk outside. Each walk was a little faster than the one before. Today, I walked 30 minutes outside at a 3mph pace and felt good the whole way.

We are having a mini heatwave in the Chicagoland area. It was 59 degrees outside whille I wallked. Heavenly! It's supposed to rain hard this afternoon and tonight, but I hope to get out for one more walk before it does.

The cough is still lingering so running is out of the question yet, but it sure feels great to be outside again and be able to move.

I had planned to do an hour of paperwork yesterday. I didn't do any. I think I will set a goal of 10 minutes of paperwork today. Ususally, if I can just get myself to start, I end up doing it for a longer period than 10 minutes. Even if I just do 10 minutes, that willl be better than nothing.

Hope everyone has a great Sparking Day!!

Ugh. I can't imagine what it's like to have asthma and an upper respiratory infection. It's so scary when you can't catch your breath. I find that this stuff leaves me weaker. And, it's sad but true that the older we get the longer it takes to recover.

You and I also battle paperwork in our home offices. I'm thinking about getting a Neat Scan so I can just file that stuff away electronically. I need to dig through my ever-growing pile of paper, too, especially with tax season upon us.

Maybe we need to think about tackling the paperwork the way we approach workouts. When I'm tired I tell myself just do do 10 minutes and once I start I won't stop until I'm done.

emoticon emoticon I am stil recovering from an illness. I march in place for short periods of time along with short walks outdoors to get in mini sparks to build my strength. I have a long way to go. You will improve quickly.

Glad you're feeling better. BTW, I put fitbit on a shoe while pedaling. It worked great.
