Reaching goals

This morning during my morning run on the treadmill, I suddenly realized how much better I felt. Maybe about a month ago I was really trying to commit to daily runs and when I started I would take a walking break every 10 mins and I would end up working out for about 30 mins. Today without even thinking about it, I ran for 40 mins with only a brief water break at the halfway mark. And I felt really good.

I haven't seen a whole lot of changes on the scale but that wasn't my only goal. I want to get back into shape and back feeling better. Today I really noticed the difference. I can't wait for the winter to be over so I can enjoy longer runs outside in the park. Today I feel really good about myself and how I've improved already. I know I can maintain these changes in my life. I am excited about it.

When you find a small success to celebrate, it really makes you want to continue your work and reach your other goals. I think it's important to make numerous goals in the pursuit of losing weight, being healthy and getting fit. If you only give yourself one massive goal of losing X number of pounds, it's harder mentally every time you don't see direct progress to that goal. But if to lose weight is just one goal but others include improvement of fitness and strength and endurance, you get more successes to celebrate which I think really helps with motivation. It's okay to set goals high, but have lots of little ones along the way to help you out.

I am really happy about my improvement and I can't wait to improve even more.
