We broke up

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Yesterday I got one more email that I haven't been opening for a while. I haven't needed to open those emails, I just don't need the stuff I'm being offered. I haven't been seen near her for months. I'm being sent these catalogs that tempt me, but I am no longer in need of those pictures.

I finally clicked on the unsubscribe at the bottom of that email yesterday. Then I had to send her an email specifically to tell her that I no longer need her, she needs to stop sending me coupons.

Fortunately Lane Bryant customer service was easy enough to deal with, just a short "contact me" email with my address got me off their mailing list. The customer service representative told me that they were sorry I didn't need them anymore, but congratulations on all the weight loss.

I thanked them for being there for me in my times of "plus size" needs. They were there when I needed bigger clothes. I was able to shop their clearance racks enough to have a great wardrobe, but now I'm just not fitting well into their smallest clothes. They were even giving me free clothes for a while. With certain coupons, I have free underwear, cami's, and even free shirts ($15 off $15 coupons). It's hard to not be able to go someplace that offered me so many great deals, but I know I'll find new places that will offer me good deals for decent new clothes. It's hard to move on from someplace you've been going to for so long, but the thrill of finding someplace new will take me to new places!

So once again, thank you Lane Bryant for being there when I needed you and not making me feel shameful for being the size I was.

I too once had a relationship with Lane Bryant. I love how you phrased this blog, and so excited for your next relationship status! lol

Great blog! Congratulations on graduating (or is it de-graduating?) from Lane Bryant. What's funny is that even though I never carried enough weight to need plus sizes, when I turned 60 they started sending me catalogs anyway. Of course, I also get ads for reverse mortgage, insurance for my "final expenses" and how I can get a "Hover-round" "no cost, absolutely no cost to me."

Ah, yes, a bittersweet relationship, but what a great problem to have! Sometimes when people break up they tell the other "I've outgrown you", but in this case you did the opposite!

hurrah for you! I am a few pounds away from reaching that point and am finding it quite bizarre! I actually feel quite overwhelmed by having so many options now... where to even start!? :)

It is wonderful that you have to deal with this problem. Congratulations!
I would like to introduce you to my favorite clothing store, Ross. I get brand new clothes at much less than department store prices. I just don't know if it is in your area.
Another favorite is to shop Thrift stores, but lately I am finding that the prices are just too high for some of their clothes. Just don't buy too much as you are still making good progress!

Woohoo! So awesome! I almost never shop ever, but my cousin and I went to Khols a few weeks ago and they had awesome deals in their clearance rack! Like 2 dollar shirts that retailed for over 30! :) So maybe if you have a Khols in your area that's a good place to start. Loved this blog!

Sometimes breaking up is hard to do (as in boy-girl teenagers). But it usually is for the best. You wanted the best for yourself so this breakup was bound to happen. On to new relationships with new retailers.

Great job on all your hard work!!!
