One Week Done!

Good morning! Today is day SEVEN of induction, and I am proud to say that I've gotten this far. As I stated in one of the SparkTeam discussions, eating low carb has started to become fun for me. We've had such a variety of food - even more than when we were eating whatever we wanted to - and cooking the variety of foods has resparked my love for cooking. I love finding new low carb recipes for me and my husband to try.
I have to say, it's really nice that he's on board, too. He's extremely supportive - counting carbs and looking at sugar when he grocery shops (that's his thing), keeping things out of the house that he knows tempt me (even though he may want them), etc. I'm a lucky girl.
The one thing I did during this week was have a drink on Saturday night while we were out with friends. It was vodka with lemon/lime and it was the only one I had. After that, I stuck to water. The next morning, I still lost a pound. Honestly, though, I won't be doing that again until after induction. It's not worth the stall in weight loss that I have now, which I am pretty sure can be attributed to that.
A few things I still need to work on:
- Water intake. I have started adding a little bit of flavored water (no carb, no sugar) to help with that, but not much. I also try to drink equal amounts of water without the flavored water or flavor packets.
- Splenda intake. I like Splenda in my tea, coffee, and of course in the Bowl of Cheesecake that I have come to know and love. I know excessive consumption could inhibit weight loss.
- Track my eats. I'm bad about this. I get easily frustrated because I feel like I have to input everything myself. GET OVER IT, BOBBI!
My practice multistate bar exam was on Saturday. I was surprised that I wasn't more nervous when test day actually came. I came home and graded the test immediately. I did not score what I wanted to score, but I did score 15 points higher than I did this past summer. I'll take any improvement, so I'm happy about that. And now, after sitting through 16 hours of lectures about each question, I'm off to do practice. I WILL SUCCEED!
