Foxfire . . . Vanquishes the Green Giant!

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

Thanks to all who suggested foxfire anti-pop up protection. It seems to be working! Yay!!

Previous attempts to install this kind of barrier created problems, but so far so good.

Good to hear you have it stumped.

Yup - and if you absolutely need the popup (for example, printing a plane ticket) you can do an exception to the no popups! Cool, isn't it?

Yay! It seems like advertisers would avoid obnoxious ads, but apparently NOT! My DH was on a website the other day where the ad actually MIGRATED every time he tried to scroll past it. There was no way to close it out. He finally had to look for the news story on a different website. GRRR

It wasn't a problem this morning for me so maybe the complaints were heard. Explorer does have anti popup options too, but the problem is when you need pop ups for other things on the site like I still use the old style Food Tracker on occasion and I like the pop up one for my Fitness Tracker better than the new style.
Enjoy your freedom from oppression!

Glad you found a solution. I just seem to be getting better at not triggering it to open. Happy tracking!!

There is nothing more frustrating than barriers. You would think that SP would be more conscious of minimizing barriers to logging. I would certainly say forget this and give up logging. I admire your fortitude to keep pressing forward and doing what you need to do for you.

So glad you found a solution. I too have found that being on SP is faster to using a tablet. Click and go. :)
Keep on Logging!!!!

Will have to look for firefox's add-on ad blockers. My nutrition tracker end-run had been to just use the SP iPhone app. It doesn't have ads and is much faster. Of course, this isn't helpful if you don't have an iPhone ( no clue as to android apps?).

Glad to be of help to anyone who lives in the giant pink state that skirts the top edge of our maps of the universe.

(Did you know that former British Commonwealth countries are invariably colored pink? Look at any globe...)
