Wanting to Redecorate My Daughter's Bedroom

Tuesday, January 29, 2013

My daughter had piano lessons yesterday so I ran some errands afterwards with her since we were near stores I needed to stop by.

I found a free paint sample (small container) coupon from Lowe's on FB the other day so did a little bit of research and found a nice color, woodsmoke, that my daughter and I both liked for her bedroom. My husband hates painting so it's been the same color since she was a toddler, and she's now a teenager, LOL.

If we don't like the way this looks I'll get more samples of different shades although I'll pay for them. It's worth being happy with a color vs. picking one and buying 2 gallons and then hating it or regretting your choice.

We haven't tried the color out yet, but I saw it online and in person and we both liked it. It's a pretty gray color that would be very neutral and allow her to change out her bedding and other things freely and gets my husband off the hook of having to paint again, LOL.

We currently have a Waverly color called "butter", which obviously is yellow, but it's too buttery and you're limited on what you can match up with it, LOL. emoticon We need something that is not only more neutral, but more elegant for a teen's room. I'm thinking that turquoise would be a great color to pair up with it, so once we decide on a color for her walls and it's painted, we'll get on the ball looking for a nice, but hopefully on sale, bedding and curtains.

I also went to Lowe's Foods (not to be confused with Lowe's where we bought paint) and got only a handful of things since my coupons and the sales were not as strong even with super doubles after shopping there 3-4 days.

I ran into the person who had caused so much drama and strife and told lies about me and my friend, who co-owns the group with me, in our homeschool group. It was a little awkward to say the least, but I looked for everything I had planned to look for and did what I came to do, get some bargains.

I got a free bag of grapefruit (had a $2 coupon that was doubled and it happened to be on sale for $4), cheap frozen burritos, jelly, etc. My total was a little over $1 after all the coupons were taken off.

Today our new dishwasher is supposed to be delivered! emoticon I for one, will be thrilled as I am not a fan of washing dishes by hand. We eat 3 meals a day plus snacks at home almost every day, so it adds up quickly.

Tonight we have a Mom's Night Out for the ladies of our homeschool group, so that should be fun!

Thanks, I think it is very pretty and never dreamed that I would be considering gray as a paint color in my home, LOL.
