I just joined Spark people. and I have to say that it's fantastic. I enjoy all the motivation and articles around here. I don't even have to go anywhere else when I wonder about something, the answer is right here! And because of Spark people I have found my motivation to get started with the weight loss. I am going to be participating in a Walk for Arthritis in May. I have 3 months to start walking and get into a place where walking won't hurt me as bad as it does now! I'm excited to get going, and that will be at least something to make me think about getting moving. I'd hate to raise money and then not be able to complete the full 3.5 miles.
I currently suffer from Osteoarthritis, and that is also another reason why I'd like to do this. I want to support something that I myself am going through. I hate to think of anyone else suffering like I am. And yet I know that there are thousands dealing with the exact thing that I am dealing with. And so with that I look forward to supporting a good cause, AND working towards a goal to get started on losing weight and getting more active. Who knows? By next year when it comes up again, I might be down to my goal weight and able to run the thing. lol But we'll see.
