Multiple blessings at our house. Praise the Lord!!!

Monday, January 28, 2013

Ken and I are both over the flu. However we still have the cough that accompanied it. The doctor said that the cough may continue for up to six or eight weeks. Sure hope that isn't so. There are times I cough so hard that my ribs hurt and feel like they are broken. McKenzie is totally well. She was able to kick whatever she had in a week. Oh to be young and so healthy again.

McKenzie also got her report card on Thursday and was very excited and happy as she received 3 As and 3 Bs and all great remarks and high scores in her behavior and willingness to help other classmates.

Ken was supposed to go the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia today as he has an appointment there tomorrow. However when we woke up to ice everywhere and freezing rain falling this morning, he called and cancelled it and will reschedule it next week. He didn't want to take a chance going through the Appalachia Mountains with the ice storm moving to the east coast and north. I continue praying that he remains cancer free!!! He is currently two years cancer free!!! Praise the Lord!!!

All our schools were on a two hour delay this morning with a few actually cancelling. We had so much rain today that it has melted all our snow and the creeks are rising. The news said our temperatures will be up to 60 degrees on Wednesday but will be back down to 18 on Thursday. No wonder so many people are getting ill. I am looking forward to spring!!!

Have a wonderful week!!! Hope you can avoid the flu and anything else that is around in your neck of the woods.
Blessings, love and hugs,
Helen

BLESSINGS:
Thankful that my DD, SIL and elderly neighbors have avoided the flu.
Plenty of water and healthy foods.
God's daily blessings.
McKenzie who continues to pray for us.
A nice warm bed to rest and get plenty of sleep.
So glad to be able to exercise again, almost back to 100%.
Can't wait to see my McKenzie. I sure do miss her.
Seeing McKenzie on Wednesday after school.
McKenzie is enjoying time with her Meme and her cousins this weekend.
Thankful that Ken decided to change his appointment until our weather clears up a bit.
Thankful that the truck driver who wrecked on the interstate didn't get hurt although his truck was destroyed. Thank you, Lord, for keeping him safe.
Too many blessings to count and post here....Thank you Lord!!!

Glad to hear that you & Ken are feeling better. Yes, that cough is a bugger to get rid of!

sounds absolutely insane, but I put Vicks on the soles of my feet, put socks on, and almost 100% cough free through the night. I thought it was a totally ridiculous idea till I tried it and it actually helped!

Glad Mackenzie is all better. Yes, the speedy healing power of youth!

Happy that the appointment was changed so you're not driving in an ice storm!

HUGS and take care of yourselves.

Those coughs sure can hang on! I wonder if it would help to put on a pot of water to moisturize the air (add a couple sticks of cinnamon! ) My husband once DID cough so hard that he broke some ribs. Praying for your recovery! emoticon Shel

So glad you are feeling better -maybe you could get a cough suppressant medicine. Unfortunately it is true so many people have continued on with a cough for a long period of time -pray it isn't so for you and Ken.
Wacky weather all right. Glad you stayed safe and did not make the trip.

I am happy you are over it so fast. It has taken me weeks and still the foolish cough. I have been very busy and stressed so I am sure it also took it's toll on our immune systems.
DH had Shingles in throat ears and mouth as well as his face and he lost a ,lot of weight. The hip surgery went well it is all blogged.
I am so happy you and Ken are well again.

So glad that you and Ken are on the mend, sure hope that nasty cough will go away soon. Sometimes that is the worse part of a cold or flu, or it is for me. You are truly blessed to have McKenzie so close by. Tell her we are very proud of her good grades.

So far hubby and I have avoided the flu and sure pray that continues. He's had enough problems with a torn meniscus in his knee and some heart rhythm problems. All under control now.

Hugs emoticon

What a blessing that you are both feeling better. Make sure not to push yourself too hard or too fast. I have some friends that have had the cough last for well over a month...hope you don't do the same.

You must be so proud of McKenzie! What a great report card and she had to be very excited to tell you all about it.

Glad you didn't try to make the trip today....it was not very nice out there.

God bless and keep you all safe.

Hugs and prayers for all.....Mary Anne

Glad to hear you are both feeling better. Thank the Lord. It took me 3 weeks to feel like I was completely over it and DH has been battling this since mid Dec but he also managed to get pneumonia twice.
Be safe in your travels-wise to cancel and wait for better weather.

Pat
