Letter to my 16 year old self...

Monday, January 28, 2013

Dear 16 year old Anne,
You have the world in front of you, you can do anything you set your mind to, don't keep the voices of your Mother telling you that you are fat, lazy and not as smart as your brother. You know that you are not any of these. You have great dreams of becoming a nurse and helping folks. Do not let the negative talk dictate who you are. You are a capable, smart, compassionate individual. The world is at your finger tips. Remember "life begins at the edge of your comfort zone" --get out there and get uncomfortable !!!.

Anne, you can't change the past but each day brings the opportunity to start fresh....The future is as bright as you choose for it to be. I am glad you followed your dreams and have become a sincere and empathetic nurse who uses her given skills to help others. Not enough of them around of late!

The quote aboute your comfort zone is one of my favorites and hangs on the wall beside my mirror. It has done well by me!

Lots of Love, Heather

So much wisdom and strength coming from those very wise words. Thankfully, you had the strength to follow your own path despite what others told you! emoticon

So sad that our 16 year old selves didn't have our 60 year old selves in charge of our self esteem!

Wisdom comes with age Anne, Life begins TODAY! We don't get do-overs; how about some promises to your future? A letter to your 70 year old self; she may be able to use it!
Personally, I wouldn't want any do-overs; yesterday's challenges made me who I am today. Today, I like the person I am. I like the person you are too! Take that and run with it! The best is yet to come! emoticon

It's sad when those who are supposed to build you up are the ones who are pulling you down. You made it this far, so I'm glad that you didn't let negative words keep you back. You are awesome.
