Another soggy day

Monday, January 28, 2013

First it was dense fog to deal with as DD went to her meeting. I
was in charge of the GC for an extra hour as we had a late start.
I don't blame the bus drivers one bit for being apprehensive of
the ice. I walked over and even walked a few extra blocks and
found slick areas and just wet ones. We headed up to the cafe
so grandma could have coffee. The two little ones played with
the box of toys the owners keep there. When I was finished,
we went to the office and the two of them used markers to
make us pictures. Suddenly, it was time to walk to school.
It was perfect timing and we had a great time.
DH had an afternoon appointment so he took off after lunch.
The only sad part of the day was when he told me that the
mother nanny and little nanny had both died. That left one
unhappy little billy.
We went out tonight to move the dead ones out of the barn
and lo and behold, the next nanny had kidded outside (in the
rain). So we moved her into the barn and presented her with
the billy. She let him nurse while we were there. We suspect
she has another kid coming but if she is willing to accept him,
we won't have to bottle feed.
I came home with soaked feet, soppy jeans and a coat that
was well past just hanging up to dry. The washer is running
and everything will be fresh and clean before long.
Sorry for the interruption but I will blog more later.
Thanks for stopping by. HUGS!

Sorry about the nanny and her kid... glad that nanny #2 was a willing wet nurse. Hope it turns out to be a good arrangement.

Put those feet up to dry, and hope you get a good rest tonight. emoticon

I am so sorry about the nanny and the little baby. What a miracle that God chose that time for another nanny to give birth. I hope that all goes well for you and the goats. emoticon

So sorry to hear about mommy goat and the wee one. It is so good that the other one had her baby and accepted the orphan. I was wondering as I started to read if you would have to bottle feed. Hope this all works out.
