poor old kitty

Monday, January 28, 2013

We're a little worried about Giz . He really hasn't eaten since Saturday. He did take a few licks of canned food today. He is 19 years old . He's sleeping most of the time. Gets up for a drink and a pee. We decided a long time ago that there would be no heroics. I don't want the end of his life to be forced feedings and Iv needles and such. He's been a great little friend and I wish for a peaceful passing.
He did this once before and then perked up and was really good for a couple of months. Fingers crossed that he does that again. emoticon

Memories are the best cheer ups. When my dog passed 5 years ago (I still haven't gotten over it), I was a mess and my wife couldn't understand. Animals are amazing, loyal things that are gifts to humans. I wish you the best for whatever fate has in store and of course peace.

We've tried all his favorites but he looks away. He is still up and moving and seems to enjoy his days when he is awake ,but he goes to the bowl and the fridge when we are in the kitchen like always but won't eat anything we offer.
I just called the vets office and they have two kinds of food that is supposed to stimulate appetite so I'll get that today .

Poor kitty. I hope he goes peacefully over the Rainbow Bridge when he goes. Have you tried giving him some warm milk?

emoticon to you.
