AKA what I've been working on since Christmas....
My Mom and Step-Father returend from 2 months in Europe right before Thanksgiving. One of my nieces asked Mom if she could make a scrapbook for her from their vactaion. My Mom being the good Grandmother she is, printed 300+ pictures (the ones they thought were best) and her travel blog. She also bought an album, stickers and a travel kit. Then she asked me if I would finish it once Cassie lost interest (she turns 9 next week). I agreed and then inhereted the project before it even started which was probably a good thing. The kit Mom bought was for a Carribean cruise (lost in paradise kind of thing.)
I finished it up today and am pretty proud of the results. I had a bunch of stickers left over from the European cruise that Craig and I took 3 years ago. (I had purchased an album and kit aboard the boat.) After I fished those out, I settled on a color scheme that would work with them. Most of the pattern papers came from two paper stacks bought at Hobby Lobby, Classic and Tattered and Worn. The hardest part was probably figureing out the spacing based on the pictures and her travel blog. Most of the pictures are in the original 4x6 format and I used her blog exacly as written.
This uses a picture from the 2nd cruise they took over there. I liked it for the opening because it was a large print (8x10), a nice shot of the two of them, and had all the flags at the bottom. Even though it was not all the places they visited on the trip - it seemed like a nice opening.
A couple of the themes I used thoughout startted with this page. Cornor punch and buttons to cover up where I missed with the corner punch.
Still using buttons, but added another theme here - ribbon or fibers.
I won't bore you with the rest, but as I said before I am beyond happy with the results.
