Taking My Own Advice

Monday, January 28, 2013

My Weekend/Day: It rocked! This weekend was relaxing, productive and exciting all rolled into one. Having the Wii Impish Brat telling me I’m Normal was the icing on the cake.

I went into work determined that I would get inventory done, a truck unloaded and leave my department looking in great shape, and I did it. Looking back, I don’t know how. I have the print outs of my inventory and I guess I pressed the “Cases” button instead of the “Pieces,” so I had an inventory total in the millions of dollars. Sweet! No problem, tomorrow will be a kick back day and I can fix those.

My Diet:
^^^ Please see above! I Zumba’ed with the Wii Fitness on Saturday and after work today. It gave me a chance to see how far I had really come in two years. Granted, I had had surgery a few months before I began Zumba’ing, but I was able to do the intermediate, go into bonus and do 45 minutes of it. I couldn’t do 15 minutes on beginner back then.

I have said over and over that I really want to take a Zumba class or an exercise class, but I stop before I sign up. I’ve come up with excuses like “can’t afford it,” “can’t fit one in my schedule,” the list goes on and on. Deep down the real reason is I’m afraid. I’m afraid of going into a room full of women, in my yoga pants and shirt and the first thing that will come to their mind is ….”Geeze is she fat or what? How the heck is she going to keep up? OMG, does she really think she can dance?”

Time and time again, I have told people who were afraid to go to the gym that no one is looking at them, they are all there for the same reason, yada yada yada. Yet, I fail to believe in the advice I give.

Classes are ˝ price because it’s the middle of the term. I think I might be confident enough to do it now

My Resolution:
This week, FlyLady directs us to the Living Room. That will be simple since that is the cleanest room in the house. I do have a couple of hot spots to clean up, the daily load of laundry, and unloading the dishwasher. I also have this case of old Game CD’s to go through. I have no idea what I’m really looking at or what I will keep. Some are for Window’s 95 so I’m not sure they would even run. I did find a Restore CD for our computer we owned 15 years ago. Don’t know what I’d do without that!

I blessed my entire house (cleaned) in 30 minutes Saturday. That was dusting, vacuuming and mopping all the floors. Add 10 more minutes for bed sheet changing. I turned that timer on, stayed focused and was done so that I could enjoy the rest of my weekend. It was truly amazing.
