Got me some dinner plans! (Yup. Another one of those blogs.)

Monday, January 28, 2013

I have made it very well known, I hate grocery shopping. Still do. But, it's getting easier. I make a list, stick to it, and I get in and out fairly quickly now.

This week, I'm making mini meatloaves (the recipe I'm going to follow makes 9 minis, with 1 pound of ground turkey. I may change that a little - don't think hubby will go for THAT small of a meatloaf, though he does like the individual portioned ones.) That will probably be tonight. I'm not sure what I will make with them, yet - maybe a bowl of steamed edamame? We'll have to eat that slowly, since it's still in the shell.

I'm also making stuffed bell peppers. I'm going to use brown rice instead of white, and the pork (not turkey, like I thought it was!) I have leftover instead of ground beef. Hoping hubby likes it, since he loved his mom's. I'm going to serve that with a side salad.

That's all I'm making this week. That should last us 4+ nights. Hubby wants to 'wing' Friday night, but I'd like to plan, so if he wants to go out, hopefully we can decide early in the day, or better yet, the day before, so I can try to plan around it, and figure out what to order.

A rough, stressful week does mean we deserve a treat. But every week? Too habitual. If it's going to be junk-y food, it had better be less than that. Hopefully, by making this week's dinners more of a comfort, we won't feel the need for it come Friday so badly.

Next up - planning my exercise. Last week I didn't get to stick to things as I had wanted, due to illness, fatigue, and migraines. Maybe every day exercise isn't doable. But, weekly sure is, and if I keep things flexible enough, hopefully I can still get my minutes in around any illness that pops up.

Happy monday everyone!

Try a restaurant that isn't focused on fried food and eat out guilt-free! By Friday night of course you're tired and deserve to have someone else do the cooking and wash the dishes!

I made mini turkey loaves once. They were really good. But that could have been the really sugary sauce that went on top... hm. LOL

My hubby loves meatloaf and I despise it. Let me know how the hubs like it, I might be asking for that recipe. It will at least keep the hubs happy for a few days.
