My new favorite thing is my stability ball. After spending what seemed like a lifetime blowing the stinkin' thing up, I am enjoying learning how to use it. I also like to sit on it when I'm at the computer. I find that my posture is a lot better than when I am in a chair.
This morning we have been having sleet and freezing rain, so school was cancelled (what a nice thing to happen on a Monday!). I decided that I have been way too lazy lately, so I got my butt in gear and did an Amy Dixon workout video with some cardio and yoga, then some stability ball and dumbbell ST. Every time I work out like that, I think, "This is so awesome! Why don't I do this all the time?" I'll try to remember that feeling and tap into it the next time I feel like being a slug. I have about 60 more minutes of fitness to do by Thursday to get my 500 minutes in for this month. SP trophy, here I come!
I used one at my chiropractor's gym...... then one day it exploded while I was laying across it on my back and dropped me to the floor like a rock! knocked the breath out of me and scared me near to death....... they told me that NEVER happens and it must have been defective......... I haven't been on one since!
until then I thought of getting one of those stability chairs that uses one of those balls.... I had back pain from sitting at my office chair at work..... they would let you use your own chair but wouldn't pay for a new chair....... I decided to retire instead! LOL
always good to use a day stuck at home to get in some indoor exercise! good job!
Hooray!! Yeah I totally love sitting at my desk on my stability ball. Though at the moment, since we just moved, we don't have a desk and the computer is on the floor...so I do some leg and back stretches while I work on the computer at home. :) But I do miss sitting on my ball - it really is super comfortable and definitely good for the posture! 1817 days ago
i used to have a ball and loved it used it for my computer like you. But someone either mischa the dog or smokey the cat popped it and neither one is talking so i have been reluctant to get another one, I love that feel good feeling after exercise. 1817 days ago
Wow!! I agree with you too ............... The stability ball is and who KNEW what a workout you could get? ............. I looked at Coach Nicoles' video a few days ago on the thing ............... and I did the 'wall push' ........ where you place the ball against a wall and you lean against it w/ your back ............. and then do numerous squats!! If yu check it out, come let me know ok? ......... the next day my quads were so sore ............... and they are firm muscle ........... but I always like to do 'more' ................ and all for best results. Where I work, many of the gals use them to sit on ............. even for part of the day .................. Keep it up! 1817 days ago
