Still not the blockbuster numbers I was looking for with the discipline I am applying but I'll take them. A total of five pounds in two weeks is nothing to complain about. I'm enjoying the journey again which is pretty awesome because the last few fits and starts I've had I have absolutely not been this content. I am hoping this time maybe it will stick and I won't fall off.
I'm accountable to myself and that's important to me. I can't give myself excuses to fail this time like I have in the past. My life is my own and my health is my sole responsibility in that life. Whatever things might be bringing me down food is not the answer. No matter how intense my schedule is there are always good options if I plan properly.
I made another slow cooker meal yesterday and that will be dinner for most of the nights this week. This time I added lots of dried vegetable seasoning and for some extra fiber, filler, vegetable servings I added a 10 oz bag of frozen french cut green beans and a 10 oz bag of frozen crinkle cut carrots. I let the whole thing cook on low for twelve hours and when I pulled it out this morning and put it in the refrigerator it certainly looked and smelled very good. I have a base which never changes - five frozen chicken breasts, two cups of dried beans and the rest is whatever I decide I want. I didn't put any spinach into the soup this time because I used my extra spinach at my Mom's house on Saturday in my salad. Putting spinach in soup is such a great idea! You get the benefits of the nutrients but it doesn't really change the flavor of the soup.
I'm eating a beautiful breakfast of greek yogurt, strawberries and blueberries with granola on top right now and drinking a cup of hot decaf green tea. This week is starting off very well and I'm pretty happy about that.
